CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball defeated Indiana State in a four-set match 3-1 (25-19, 25-16, 23-25, 25-17) to open the 2023 season. The two teams had not faced each other since 1991.
The Musketeers start the season at 1-0 (0-0 BIG EAST) while the Sycamores continue on at 0-1 (0-0 MVC).
• led the squad in kills with a total of 17 and hit for .250 in the match averaging 4.5 kills per set. The junior outside hitter also recorded 22 receptions, 12 digs, and one block assist.
• Senior middle blocker and redshirt sophomore outside hitter each posted 13 kills against the Sycamores while sophomore outside hitter hitter earned a career-high 11 kills.
