CINCINNATI - Xavier head track and field and cross country coach Ryan Orner has announced the addition of Olympian David Payne as an assistant coach. Payne won a silver medal in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
"I'm very excited to add David to my staff as our assistant coach for sprints, hurdles and jumps," said Orner. "David offers a unique perspective when it comes to training and racing from his successful career as a professional. Additionally, David will have an opportunity to contribute to our team culture by sharing the mentality and work ethic that guided him to an Olympic medal.
