NEW YORK - Simen Hestnes was recognized with BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll accolades on Monday after scoring the game-winner for Xavier men's soccer on Saturday at Seton Hall.
The senior midfielder struck for a goal in the 97th minute, helping XU snap a five-match losing streak in a 2-1 overtime win at SHU.
XU also played its way back into the postseason picture with the win, moving into a tie for sixth-place in the league standings with one regular season match to go. The top six teams in the league receive a bid into the BIG EAST Championships, which will begin next Sunday.
