The NCAA released the first NET rankings of the college basketball season Monday.
The NET is the NCAA's primary evaluation tool for the postseason.
Xavier (8-2, 1-2) is the top-ranked local team in the first release at No. 46. The Musketeers' best wins, per NET rating, have come against Oklahoma (49), Marquette (63) and Toledo (77). Xavier's the fourth-highest ranked Big East team in the NET, behind Villanova (5), Creighton (30) and Seton Hall (44).
Cincinnati (2-6, 0-3) checks in at No. 142 and its best win is over Furman (56). The Bearcats' losses have nearly all come against top-100 opponents in Tennessee (3), Xavier (46), Tulsa (66), UCF (74), Georgia (86) and South Florida (114).
