The Xavier University basketball team will be one of eight playing in the 2019 Charleston Classic in South Carolina - along with UConn, Florida, Miami, Penn State, Saint Joseph's, Towson and Missouri State - according to a report Tuesday via Twitter from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga and his staff coached Shane Larkin - son of National Baseball Hall of Famer and former Cincinnati Reds great Barry and nephew of Xavier radio analyst and all-time leading scorer Byron - during his two seasons at University of Miami from 2011 to 2013.
