Reliance on 3-point shooting caught up with Xavier

Wednesday night's 85-68 thrashing at the hands of Seton Hall was a sobering reminder for Xavier University's men's basketball team that the Big East Conference doesn't allow for part-time execution, it's a league that requires toughness and togetherness, and Xavier didn't have either.

It was the first time this season that Xavier lacked an appropriate response, where a team pulled away and the Musketeers didn't look ready or willing to fight.

That's not a recipe for success in the Big East. It's a recipe for disaster if it continues.

Xavier head coach Travis Steele said his team got "exposed" in Wednesday's loss.
