CINCINNATI - No. 24 Xavier women's soccer opened up the 2022-23 Xavier Athletics season with a win, topping Western Kentucky 1-0 on Thursday evening at Corcoran Field.
In the first half, Xavier's offense put pressure on the Hilltoppers, holding an 8-2 advantage on shots but the score sat at 0-0 until final minute of the half, when found for the lead. Xavier continued its offensive advantage in the second half, outshooting WKU 5-2 in the second period and holding a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks overall.
