NASHVILLE – Xavier basketball and Florida State will meet again in the NCAA Tournament.
This year, the roles will be reversed.
Top-seeded Xavier's rout of No. 16 Texas Southern combined with No. 8 Florida State's win over No. 9 Missouri Friday night at Bridgestone Arena set into motion a rematch of a 2017 NCAA Tournament second-round game between the Musketeers and Seminoles.
This time, Xavier will be the favored and higher-seeded team when the teams meet Sunday in Nashville at 8:40 p.m. ET.
Almost a year ago to the day Sunday, it was No. 3 Florida State that failed to fend off a furious charge from 11th-seeded Xavier in a 91-66 game won by the surging Musketeers.
