WICHITA, Kan. - Xavier catcher Natale Monastra was named to the Watch List for the 2021 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award, released by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission on Tuesday.
The award is given annually to the top Division I collegiate catcher. Semifinalists will be announced on May 20 and finalists will be announced on June 7.
Monastra, a graduate student, has appeared in 157 games at Xavier, starting in 135, with a career average of .247 at the plate.
