CINCINNATI - Xavier women's basketball picked up a 61-42 win over Providence on Friday afternoon in front of 3,317 fans on Field Trip Day. The Musketeers improved to 3-23 (2-13 BIG EAST), while the Friars dropped to 11-16 (2-13 BIG EAST).
• Xavier opened the game on a 6-2 run capped by an Aaliyah Dunham at the 3:42 mark. The Musketeers finished the frame by outscoring the Friars, 6-3, on 3-for-4 shooting to take a 12-5 lead.
• The Musketeers opened the second quarter on a 7-3 run to take their first double-figure lead of the game, 19-8, at the 7:46 mark.
