CINCINNATI - Xavier opened up a five-game series against the Georgetown Hoyas with a pair of shutout wins on Friday, taking a 9-0 win in the seven-inning series opener, and taking the 2-0 win in nine innings in game two.
Xavier took a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game one, and pushed it to 5-0 in the third inning adding four more in the sixth to make it a 9-0 lead, with Xavier's offense fueled by home runs from Alex Helmin, Natale Monastra and Garrett Schultz.
