OXFORD, Ohio - Three big innings at the plate secured a nine-run win for Xavier, 13-4, at Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday evening. Xavier moved to 17-23 overall with the win.
Xavier scored a pair in the first inning and added four more in the third. Those six early runs would be all Xavier would need, but a seven-run sixth inning, capped by a three run homer for Luke Franzoni, broke the game open, 13-0. Miami scored four runs in the eighth, but were unable to close the gap further, setting the final score at 13-4 in favor of the Musketeers.
