EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Xavier baseball opened up the four-game series at Evansville with a 6-1 win on Friday evening, moving the Musketeers to 6-9 on the season.
The game went to the third inning in a 1-1 tie, but Xavier would go ahead for good on an Andrew Walker homer in the third, the only run the Musketeers would need the rest of the way. Xavier added a pair of insurance runs in each the seventh and the ninth but Xavier's pitching didn't allow another Purple Ace run, setting the final score at 6-1.
