OXFORD, MS - Xavier baseball jumped out to a narrow lead early but a big fifth inning for No. 15 Ole Miss was too much for the Musketeers to overcome, falling 13-3 in game three of the series on Sunday afternoon at Swayze Field.
A Kody Darcy solo home run gave the Musketeers the lead in the third, and the Rebels immediately answered with a solo shot of their own to tie the game, 1-1, going into the fourth. The tie held to the bottom of the fifth, when an eight-run inning for the Rebels broke the game open, 9-1.
