CINCINNATI - Xavier men's basketball fell short to Marquette in a double-overtime thriller, 84-82, on Wednesday night at Cintas Center. Five Musketeers scored in double figures, led by senior with 19 points. recorded his 12th double-double of the season as Xavier falls to 2-6 in BIG EAST Conference play.
- Xavier opened the game with a made hook shot from Tyrique Jones from the left block. On the following possession, the Musketeers took a 5-3 lead after Jason Carter connected on a three-pointer with 18:50 left in the half.
- With 15:00, Paul Scruggs connected on a back-cutting layup off an assist from Zach Freemantle to tie the game at 9-9.
