CINCINNATI – Xavier women's basketball dropped an 89-50 contest to Villanova on Friday night at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 9-12 (2-8 BIG EAST), while the Wildcats improved to 16-5 (6-4 BIG EAST).
• Villanova hit four of its first five shots to open the game, taking a 10-2 lead and forcing a Xavier timeout. The Wildcats hit 62.5 percent of their shot attempts to take a 24-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
• Villanova continued its hot shooting as the Wildcats connected on 65.6 percent (21-for-32) of their shot attempts in the first half to take a 52-16 lead into the locker room.
