CINCINNATI - In a back-and-forth game at Cincinnati, Xavier had chance to move in front late, with the go-ahead run on base in the ninth, but the Musketeers fell 8-7 to the Bearcats at UC Baseball Stadium on Tuesday night. Xavier moves to 30-18 overall on the season.
Cincinnati took the early lead with a pair of runs in the first, taking the 2-0 lead into the third.
In the top of the third, Grant Stephenson led off the inning with a single, followed by Jack Housinger reaching on an error.
