Musketeers Advance with Shootout Victory over Georgetown

MASON, Ohio - Xavier baseball was locked in a battle with Georgetown to keep their season alive, and they prevailed in a thriller. While they did surrender a seven run inning, the persistent Musketeer bats scored in six of eight innings to put the Hoyas away 16-8. Xavier is now set to face the loser of No.1 UConn and No.2 Creighton tonight, with the winner to advance to the BIG EAST Championship Games.

Justin Loer was phenomenal to start the game. In just his third career start, the freshman threw five scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in his longest outing to date.
