Eleven years ago, I stumbled into a job at The Enquirer.
I answered the phone and took box scores. The best thing about that job was that between calls I was able to read the stories that would be printed that night and delivered in the morning.
Reading those stories, written by so many great writers, I dreamt that one day that might be me.
For seven years, I answered the phone and helped out wherever I could before I finally got a chance. The opportunity to cover high school sports these last four years in the town where I grew up has been an honor and a thrill.
