Xavier beat Creighton 63-61 Thursday in thrilling fashion to earn a spot in Friday night's Big East Conference Tournament semifinals against Villanova
Villanova 71, Xavier 67, FINAL – Xavier's run came to an end Friday night after Villanova got hot in overtime to come back and beat the Musketeers in the semifinals of the Big East Conference Tournament.
The Wildcats outscored Xavier 13-8 in overtime.
At the end of regulation, Xavier forward Naji Marshall had a shot in the lane with less than two seconds to go. Villanova's Collin Gillespie slid under Marshall while he was in the air and Marshall was called for a charge.
