NEW YORK - Makel Rasheed was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. He earns the recognition for the second time this season.
The senior defender helped No. 19 Xavier remain unbeaten on the year with a 1-0-1 record last week (W, 3-1 at Evansville on Sept. 20; T, 0-0 vs Marquette on Sept. 24). He played 90 minutes in both matches on the defensive back line.
Rasheed scored two goals vs Evansville and took four shots (three on goal) last week. The Rockville, Md., native limited opponents to only 12 shots (four on goal) over two matches.
