NEW YORK - After helping Xavier stay unbeaten in BIG EAST play, graduate student Madison Ayson was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
In Xavier's 1-0 win over Villanova on Thursday, Ayson scored the eventual game-winner from in front of the goal off a pass from Kennedy Clark in the 66th minute. The goal was her second of the season, and first game-winner. She has five points on two goals and an assist.
Ayson, a defender from Rocklin, Calif., also played over 40 minutes in both matches last week, helping limit Villanova to five shots in Xavier's win, and Seton Hall to six shots in the 1-1 draw, keeping Xavier unbeaten in conference play.
