Xavier men’s basketball’s rotation is about to grow from eight players to nine as a familiar face is readying to return to the court.
Xavier head coach Chris Mack said sophomore forward Kaiser Gates practiced several days this week, including on Friday. Gates could make his season debut Saturday against Northern Iowa, Mack said.
The 6-foot-8 Gates was sidelined through Xavier’s opening five games due to an October surgical procedure to remove small particles of cartilage, the Enquirer reported previously.
“He’s ready to go,” Mack said. “He changes our team in a lot of ways.
