Xavier head coach Travis Steele said ahead of Saturday night's game at Marquette that there would be some lineup changes, and those were on display right away with a new starting lineup that featured three true freshmen, a senior and a sophomore.
CJ Wilcher earned his first career start in place of Jason Carter, and he was joined by fellow freshmen Dwon Odom and Colby Jones, as well as sophomore Zach Freemantle and senior Paul Scruggs.
It's the first time Xavier has started three freshmen in a game since Jan. 14, 2015, when JP Macura, Trevon Bluiett and Larry Austin Jr.
