Xavier 41, Oakland 36, HALFTIME – It wasn't the prettiest first half for Xavier, which basically trailed for the first seven minutes of the game while trying to find a foothold or least a little rhythm offensively.
The final 10 minutes of the first half was much more Xavier's speed. The Musketeers needed it, too, because the first 10 minutes of the game belonged to Oakland's potent 3-point attack and the all-around attack of Xavier Hill-Mais, who, down the stretch, single-handedly kept the Golden Grizzlies in the game with 22 points on 9 of 14 shooting in the first half.
