NEW YORK - After batting .900 in the DH spot for two of Xavier's three games last week, senior Jeff Holtz was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Junior RHP Jared Gadd also earned a spot on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll.
Holtz, originally from Hartland, Wisc., was designated hitter in games two and three of Xavier's three-game sweep of Butler last week. The senior batted .900 (9-of-10) with four hits for extra bases, driving in a team-high six RBIs for the week.
