NEW YORK - Following two-shutout BIG EAST wins over the weekend, Xavier women's soccer picked up a pair of weekly honor for its defense, with earning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and goalkeeper earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
, who is originally from Eureka, Mo., played the full time in both of Xavier's wins, a 3-0 victory against Villanova on Thursday and a 2-0 win over Creighton on Sunday. The senior helped the Musketeers outshoot Villanova and Creighton by a 40-9 margin, including 18-3 on goal. Jakovich also scored the game-winning goal against the Bluejays on Sunday, scoring her first goal of the season less than five minutes into the contest.
