Googins Sets All-Time Wins Mark as Xavier Beats Georgetown to Open BIG EAST Play, 8-5

BETHESDA, Md. – Xavier baseball head coach Scott Googins claimed the school's all-time wins record on Friday, guiding the Musketeers to an 8-5, come-from-behind win over Georgetown at Shirley Povich Field.

Xavier improves to 13-22 (1-0 BIG EAST) overall with the win, while the Hoyas dropped to 15-20 (1-3 BIG EAST).

Googins, in his 11th season, moves past former XU skipper John Morrey (1993-2004) who compiled 287 wins over a 12-year career.

· Nate Soria led the Musketeers with a 2-for-4 day, lacing a pair of singles to go with a run scored and an RBI.
