OKATIE, S.C. - Xavier's Garrett Wood (Mason, Ohio/Mason HS) won the BIG EAST Men's Golf Individual Title at the BIG EAST Golf Championships on Sunday, April 28. The Musketeers finished seventh (out of nine teams) at the conference championships.
The three-day tournament was played at the Dogwood and Magnolia Courses at Callawassie Island Golf Club (Par 72; 6,956 yards).
Wood becomes the 12th individual to place first at a conference championship in program history and the first since Herbert Day in 2010-11 (Atlantic 10 Championships). The sophomore golfer won the BIG EAST title by one stroke, ahead of four players who finished tied for second.
