MASON, Ohio - Xavier baseball captured the season series vs the Bearcats on Monday night with a 6-5 victory, the Musketeers third straight win over crosstown rival Cincinnati. Despite the cold weather, 1,203 fans attended the game at Prasco Park.
The Xavier pitching staff posted a season-high 13 strikeouts, the team's fourth game with 10 or more strikeouts. The Musketeers have thrown 34 strikeouts in three games vs the Bearcats this season.
Lane Flame went 4-for-4 from the plate with three RBI, a run and a triple to pace the Musketeer offense.
Xavier (12-13) looks to win its fourth straight game over the Bearcats (9-13) on Wednesday, March 30 in the opening game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic.
