NEW YORK - Deja Ross was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Saturday after helping the Musketeers post a 2-1 record this week. Xavier ended non-conference play with a 7-4 record.
The freshman forward averaged 10.5 points per game with a .412 field-goal percentage (7-for-17). She was also went 5-for-13 from behind the arc. Ross added 6.0 rebounds per game, while also collecting three assists, one steal and one block.
She scored a season-high 13 points against No. 16 Missouri on Monday and added eight points and six rebounds in the win over FAMU.
