Travis Steele wasted no time or energy trying to hide his disappointment following his team's 80-72 loss on Saturday to Connecticut.

After waiting two weeks – a portion of which was spent in quarantine due to a third COVID-19 pause – to play another game, the third-year Xavier head coach wasn't pleased with his defense or the end result.

For a team that's only played two games in the last 34 days, excitement's been hard to find, while disappointment's been readily available like it was on Saturday.

Sophomore Zach Freemantle preceded Steele at the post-game podium and before his coach said the same thing, the sophomore said, "Using COVID is a real easy excuse to put a loss on.
