University of Houston men's basketball head coach Kelvin Sampson put out a call for help in the midst of the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, and Xavier's Chris Mack answered the call.
Other Xavier coaches are joining in, too, along with college basketball coaches from around NCAA athletics.
As Hurricane Harvey continued Monday to batter the coast of Texas along the Gulf of Mexico, Sampson made a plea via Twitter to all men's and women's basketball programs at practically every conceivable level of organized basketball, asking for donations of equipment that would later be distributed around the region.
