MILWAUKEE — We gained an idea of at least one issue Xavier basketball head coach Chris Mack might bring up when he meets with the league's coaches and athletic directors next offseason.
Following Xavier's 91-87 win over Marquette Wednesday, Mack had some measured criticism of the Big East Conference for opting to schedule Dec. 27 as the opening night, forcing Xavier and other programs to practice on Christmas Day.
Asked specifically by The Enquirer about offensive rebounding, Mack noted the earlier than normal start to league play as a possible cause for unrefined play.
"I didn't like the way the Big East sort of did our conference with these games on the 27th," Mack said.
