INDIANAPOLIS - Junior shortstop Chris Givin had a career-day, going 5-for-5 with his sixth triple of the season but Xavier baseball fell 8-4 at Butler on Saturday at Bulldog Park.
Xavier fell to 16-30 (5-9 BIG EAST) with the loss as the series moved even on the weekend.
The Bulldogs improved to 28-14 overall (5-5 BIG EAST) and snapped a seven-game losing streak in the series. The last time Butler had beaten Xavier in the annual series was May 15, 2015 at Hayden Field.
