Colby Jones watched the beginning of his college basketball career on a television in his dorm room.
For the first five games of the 2020-21 season, Jones, fellow freshman CJ Wilcher and walk-on Spencer Cody – all roommates, all quarantined due to COVID-19 contact tracing – gathered around the TV in their dorm and watched the Xavier Musketeers play without them.
"It kind of caught me off guard," said Jones, "getting ready for the first game and then the day before I get a call from my doctor and he said, 'You have to quarantine.'
"Watching our team out there playing, it felt good watching them .
