MASON, Ohio - A five-run fifth for Xavier put the Musketeers ahead St. John's for good, winning 11-3 at Prasco Park on Saturday afternoon. Xavier moves onto to Saturday night playing No. 1 Creighton on Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Championship bracket at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.
St. John's scored in the first and third to take two-run lead. Xavier erased the lead on a two-run homer for in the fourth, then took the lead on a five-run fifth, fueled by another two-run shot for Franzoni to go ahead 7-2. A grand slam in the eighth put Xavier up nine, 11-2.
