OXFORD, OH -- Xavier dropped the series opener to the Seton Hall Pirates Friday afternoon, 3-1. The Musketeers fall to 20-26 overall and 9-3 in BIG EAST action.
The Pirates jumped to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning that was sparked by a two lead-off hits. Seton Hall extended its lead, 2-0, in the third inning on an unearned earned run after an RBI double.
After a lead-off single to center, Conor Grammes advanced the bases when Chris Givin singled followed by a Matt Warkentin single. Grammes tagged and touched home when Jack Housinger flew out to center to cut the lead to 2-1.
