CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball improved its record to 8-13 with a 5-2 victory over Evansville on Saturday afternoon, securing the series win in the second of three games with the Purple Aces. The series finale will be Sunday at noon.
Led by freshman Kody Darcy's two homeruns, the Musketeers never trailed, taking a two-run lead in the third. After Evansville got on the board with a single run in the fourth, the Musketeers got the run back in the fifth. Xavier added a run in the seventh and eighth to hold off the Purple Aces.
