Wyoming senior Ryan Nelson won the 400 IM Friday at the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Houston.
Nelson finished with a time of 3 minutes, 47.04 seconds to beat teammate Wade Nelson (3:47.53), who finished second. UW's Dylan Sether was fifth and Ryan Ball was eighth.
Also Friday, senior George Eglesfield took fourth in the 100 butterfly with a school-record time of 47.30 seconds. In the 200 freestyle, freshman Jack Herron was third in 1:36.39.
In the 100 breaststroke, senior Gabe Rooker set a school record and placed second with a 53.17 while senior Kyle Scalise was fourth in 53.
