Competing at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships for the first time, Wyoming's Maria Harutjunjan and Emily Ridout both finished in the top 35 of the 100 breaststroke on Friday in Atlanta.
Harutjunjan, a sophomore, finished 32nd with a time of 1 minute, 0.81 seconds while Ridout was 35th in 1:00.90.
"We know it's the first time at the NCAAs for all of them, so there has been plenty of adjusting," UW coach Tom Johnson said. "I am proud of both of them for what they have accomplished so far."
On Saturday, Harutjunan will compete in the 200 breaststroke and Ridout in the 100 freestyle.
