Wyoming's Ja'la Henderson sets program record in triple jump

University of Wyoming junior Ja'la Henderson set a program record in the triple jump Saturday at the Potts Indoor Invitational in Boulder, Colorado.

Competing in the event for the first time, Henderson went 41 feet, 1.5 inches to break the record of 40-2.25 set two years ago by Day Timberman.

Other UW winners were freshman William Nolan (Cheyenne South), who won the triple jump with a mark of 47-6.25 and senior Kerry White, who won the women's mile with a time of 4 minutes, 57.42 seconds.

Also for the Cowboys, Ricky Faure (Rock Springs) finished second in the mile and Jace Marx (Big Piney) was second in the 200-meter dash.
