Wyoming wrestling team is ranked No. 22 to start season

For the first time in four years the University of Wyoming wrestling team will begin the season ranked in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Top 25.

The Cowboys are ranked No. 22 with 72 points. Penn State was the unanimous No. 1, receiving all 400 points.

Wyoming returns three NCAA qualifiers from last year's team, which finished 17th at the NCAA Championships. Redshirt sophomore Montorie Bridges, who earned All-America honors by finishing eighth at 133 pounds, leads the way, with sophomore Sam Turner (141/149) and senior Branson Ashworth (165) also back.

The Cowboys were 13-3 in duals last year (7-2 in the Big 12), with Bridges and Bryce Meredith both winning conference titles.
