Wyoming wrestling takes down Northern Colorado to close regular season

The 12th-ranked University of Wyoming wrestling team finished the regular season in style Sunday, defeating Northern Colorado 26-19 in Greeley, Colorado.

With the win, the Cowboys (16-4, 6-2 Big 12) reached 16 dual wins for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

"I think that's a great sign of the future," said head coach Mark Branch, who improved to 116-53 in dual meets at UW. "Those things don't just automatically happen every year so we've got to get better, but at the same time ... this team really put together a solid season.

"We wrestle for the postseason, so that's what our focus is on.
