The University of Wyoming volleyball team got its season off to a solid start Friday with a sweep (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) of Northern Colorado in its exhibition opener.
The Cowgirls were led at the net by senior Emily Lewis, who finished with 11 kills. Junior libero Madi Fields added 13 digs and 10 assists and junior Cori Aafedt led the team with 13 assists.
"I think we saw what you might expect in a preseason exhibition match," UW head coach Chad Callihan said in a release. "We saw some flashes of some pretty good offense and we saw some things defensively we want to get better at.
