LARAMIE — The conference season opens in earnest this week for the Wyoming Cowgirls volleyball team. Now is when the results truly matter.
The Cowgirls concluded their 11-game non-conference slate with a 4-7 record after finishing 1-2 in the UniWyo Invite last week. UW dropped a pair of thrilling five-set battles to Long Beach State and Idaho State before sweeping aside Portland by scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-20.
Over the next two months, Wyoming will play an 18-game conference schedule which begins tonight at home with the opening round of the Border War versus Colorado State (6-4 overall).
