Wyoming volleyball accepts postseason bid

The University of Wyoming volleyball team on Tuesday accepted an automatic berth to the 2017 National Volleyball Invitational Championship. It marks the first time since 1984 the Cowgirls will compete in postseason play.

Wyoming (17-13, 12-6 Mountain West) finished second in league play behind Colorado State.

UW was one of 15 teams to accept an automatic berth into the NIVC, with the rest of the 32-team field being announced Sunday.

Junior Reed Copeland leads the Cowgirls' attack as she is currently No. 7 in blocks per set (1.20) and No. 6 in hitting percentage (.311) in the MW.
