The University of Wyoming tennis team opens play in the Mountain West Championship in San Diego on Thursday against New Mexico.
The fifth-seeded Cowgirls (13-7, 3-2 MW) defeated the fourth-seeded Lobos (12-8, 4-1 MW) 4-1 back on March 29 in their only meeting this season.
Leading the way for the Cowgirls are senior Elisa Koonik (16-13 on the season), freshman Maria Oreshkina (19-11), junior Ana Royo (18-12), freshman Mihaela Kaftanova (15-12), senior Tessa van Der Ploeg (10-8) and freshman Ana Fernandez (11-15).
