The University of Wyoming swimming and diving teams split a dual with the University of Denver on Saturday in Laramie.
The Cowgirls won in thrilling fashion, 150.5-149.5, while the Cowboys fell 163-138.
Sophomore Karla Contreras won the 3-meter diving for the Cowgirls with a score of 301.05 points as junior CeeJay Harris took second with 251.55. Wyoming won seven of the 16 events on the women's side.
The Cowboys won seven events, led by junior Ryan Russi taking the gold in the 1-meter dive with a score of 222.00.
The Cowgirls return to the pool next weekend for a pair of duals starting with New Mexico State on Friday before a conference clash with New Mexico on Saturday.
