The University of Wyoming rodeo teams took control of the Central Rocky Mountain Region team races over the weekend as both the Cowboys and Cowgirls captured the team titles at Casper College’s Ropin’ and Riggin’ Days at the Central Wyoming Fairground.
For the Cowboys, the victory continued a season-long trend as they finished with 665 points to win their fifth CRMR title of the season and handily defeated runner-up Gillette College (450) and third place Casper College (420). The Cowgirls scored 365 points to hold off the host Thunderbirds, who placed second with 305 points. More importantly for the Cowgirls, they vaulted over Eastern Wyoming College to move to the top of the regional standings with only one rodeo remaining.
